You're reading I am trying hard not to self injure right now, has anyone else been in the same boat? What did you do to avoid giving into temptation?

It stems from my childhood. I was punished physically and learned to punish myself when I thought I was 'bad.'

I started injuring myself and didnt even know that other people did that. I didnt even know i had a problem. I talked to a counselor on the phone and he said i was abused physically or sexually or both. So unless you've been there people dont understand why. I dont cut but i can understand the why behind it. I S.I in a different way thats all. I am grateful i dont maybe i'm in denial and think im not that bad as i dont cut. Injury is injury though and so i know better. it is hard to stop. its a way to survive. look online there are good articles that cover the way behind self injury.
