You're reading I bought these from a French-speaking black man from Ghana at a flea market in Florida years ago. They are copper & about 3cm in length (about the size of an American 25 cent piece). What are they & what are they for? (See Pics in answer below)

Sorry, I dunno. Looks Hindu to me... some sort of meditation-oriented talisman? You need some folks from India to weigh in! :)

Curious George: They have a Jainism connection and I think the script is Prakrit. I will post more details after consulting my wife in an hour or so.

These are lockets made of copper usually worn around the neck or waist by followers of Jainism. Jains has several monks so to pinpoint exactly which monk the pictures depict will need specialized knowledge in Jainism which we do not have. The script appears to be Prakrit/Brahmi - with which too we are not familiar.
Then the first image in the 6th lot is confusing in that it is not an Indian image that is inscribed in the coin, but the scripts are the same. All the remaining images are of that of an unidentifiable Jain Saint.
In all probability the lockets are less than 300 years old. It might be worthwhile getting them tested by carbon dating. If they prove to be more than 200 years old it would be worthwhile getting them examined by a scholar in Jainism and in Brahmi/Prakrit scripts.
Who knows, they could be worth auctioning in Christies. But detailed research required before you contemplate anything, Curious George.
Best of luck.
