Microsoft Excel 2007 question: How do I associate the first entry in a row with the rest of the row so that it will sort according to the first entry and keep the data in the rest of the row with it?

    Manually, when you select the range of data to be sorted. If you select even one cell in a contiguous range, then choose Data / Sort, Excel will attempt to identify the bounds of the range that it thinks belongs together. It doesn't work so well if you have blank rows and columns, but it gives it the old college try.
