Manually, when you select the range of data to be sorted. If you select even one cell in a contiguous range, then choose Data / Sort, Excel will attempt to identify the bounds of the range that it thinks belongs together. It doesn't work so well if you have blank rows and columns, but it gives it the old college try.

No matter what cells I select, the freeze panes option always selects the first 15 rows to freeze. How do I fix this in Excel 2010?

I need a formula in Excel that does the following..
If the value in cell A1=X, then multiply cell B1 by 5..if A1=Y, then multiply B1 by 8.
