In New York, they might put a $2 tax on cigarette boxes, raising the price of a carton from $54 to $75. Do you think this will have any effect on the amount of smokers in NY? Do you think this law will help people quit?

    It will just promote theft, poverty and black market sales. Raising the price does not make people want to quit smoking, as much as raising the price of oranges or lettuce makes you not want orange juice or salad.
