I've talked openly with the kids from a very very early age but only when it naturally crops up. I think it's worked ok because we can now have open discussions at the dinner table or whereever and neither the boys nor my older daughter are embarrassed (or obsessed for that matter) about their own or other people's bodily functions. It makes it easier to concentrate on the emotional and moral aspects of sex in their early teens if you've already discussed the physical aspects.

    • That is a pretty good idea, haha I'm 23 and I never really had that talk with my parents. Thanks to my stupid curiosity I probably know more then I should.
