Question

Help answer this question below.

I have a Sony PS3 and a Samsung HD TV. My PS3 has a high pitched humming sound - when I play games or watch Blu Ray. I have tried two different HDMI cables. Does anyone know how to fix that hum?

Is the hum coming from the TV speakers or the PS3 itself? If the latter, try turning it on its side. If the hum goes away or changes pitch, then I suspect what you're hearing is simply the motor spinning. The only way to "fix" it would be to move the PS3 further away from your ears.

If it's coming through the TV speakers, I don't know what might be going on. My first guess would be crosstalk of some kind, but it would have to be occurring somewhere in the audio digital-to-analog conversion in the Television. HDMI isn't susceptible to the usual culprit of running the cable too close to power.
