Why don't we take 1 or 2 days from months with 31 days in it, and just give those days to February?

but I wasn't 1 until after I was alive for 365 days...if the calendar follows the same rules as you claim (which I do not know if it does or not), then the first birthday of the AD calendar would not occur until after it's been around for 365 days first...Nobody claims their newborn baby is 1 year old, nor does anyone say a 366 day old baby is 2. Your answer seems to contradict itself but thanks for taking a stab at it.
