Why are people so obsessed with points that they would go so far as asking for them in question form? Is it just an ego issue?

    Points are fun.

For many they are proof that they are doing a decent or even good job.

When points were added to AB, it made it a kind of game, and some people are VERY competitive. Therefore, they ask for points. Almost everyone has, at one time or another, before they got "slapped down" by someone telling them that it's illegal to ask for points.

Even if they are not the most important thing to ABers (they aren't REALLY to me), we still enjoy getting them. Personally, I LOVE comments.

    Even so, points are:
The gravy on the mashed potatoes of the comments...
The chocolate syrup on the ice cream of questions...
The afterglow of a good session in bed...

Whoops... Got a little carried away, there! LOL

(You get the idea, right?) ;-)
