To help prevent razor burn, slow down. Light pressure and moving the razor at a slower rate will help to skim over your skin with irritating it. You're after hair, not skin.

Also, try to use a fresh, sharp blade at least weekly. A dull blade is more harm than its worth. Use enough gel or cream to help lubricate the shaving process.

If your skin is very sensitive, an electric shaver may be your best option. A rotary shaver may work better because the circular motion is less abrasive than hand held shavers.

To relieve the burn, find an after-shave gel or lotion containing aloe for moisturizing and hydrating. Use it before applying perfume or cologne to help prevent irritation.
