The trouble with democracy is that is akin to mob rule. It is the best of a bad lot when choosing our leaders, but the fact that a good proportion of people who vote, cannot see past the glitz of the candidates or vote for a party because they appeal to their worse natures means we have more corruption.

I see people voting against their own interests, which also baffles me. How a working class person can vote for a conservative party makes me wonder if they ever want to have a secure job, safe working conditions, decent wages and a decent society.

Conservative parties will be most inclined to work for big business, which means passing laws that allow corporations to cut jobs, outsource, keep pay low, reduce health and safety and sack anyone that tries to form a union.
