it has nothing to do with being weak.
many addicts have been through so much shit and even if they are having to use something as a crutch to get through the day at least they are surviving.

Yeah, ok. Can you think of any other excuses to justify a vice? Lemme ask you, what happens then to people that go thru the same or more and still don't do the shit? What's your explanation for that then? As for surviving, yeah, some people are better off dead, particularly, when their survival depends on the well being of others

It has everything to do with being weak. And by weak I mean unable to fend off addiction for some reason, genetic, emotional or otherwise. In fact religion tends to fill that gap for a lot of recovering addicts because it to can be and is an addiction.

You got that right. Based on my observations (living among the lot), they majority of them replace alcohol, drugs, gambling and/or other vices for religion. Honestly, I don't know which one is worst. At least when they're drunk or high, they're not trying to shove the crap down my throat.
