well since Jesus wasn't really born on December 25th.......but was declared a day by the pope to celebrate his birth in place of pagan holidays

Nope nothing seems familiar...other then pagans usually do take from christian faith and not the ohter way around.. Check dates on what belief comes first.

    • I have done my reading nad trust those who have spent a life time on apologetics and have learned to look at the dates before saying that, and not to assume.
religions borrow from others. Some stuff that people say Pagans started was 200 hundred years after Christianity started. And some stuff Judaism started..which Christianity is a branch of

    • Well any source is going have its bias.....to find an unbiased about such subject, would be almost impossible I imagine. For years I thought the Christians got from the pagans after reading and learning on my own. Each source has its bias..even the opinion christians got their sources from the pagans. Which God knew about Jesus and what He would do from dawn of man..but won't go into that. Well I stand by mine :) agree to disagree I guess take care

    • Even if you ignore the similarity of the date, everything points to the who deity thing as man made

    • date means alot..if pagans came up with it later means they copied Christianity. Date means alot if you are looking for the truth. If pagan borrowed from christianity or vice versa . If you aren't going believe in anything, then date doesnt matter much at all.

    • Christians hijacked the winter and spring solstice celebrations from the pagans and superimposed their crackpot beliefs on top. Where in the bible does it mention the Easter bunny or chocolate eggs?

    • . I personally don't believe in celebrating Christmas nor Easter as in celebrating the Easter bunny or Santa Clause. Not all Christians do...its up to their convictions what they wish to do. And the motive of their heart is what is important anyways and not for anyone to judge but God.

    • It is established fact that Christianity borrowed or, in some cases, syncretized some of its practices and beliefs from Pagan sources. No need to feel shame. Those same Pagan sources did the same with sources that preceded *them*. It's how religion works. Many of these motifs are archetypal and occur time and again throughout human history. Your statements to the contrary are ill-informed. You may have spent a lifetime on apologetics for Christianity. I have spent a lifetime on the study of religion, *period*. there is nothing new under the sun.
      .
I'm interested in reliable source citations for those Pagan practices that you say are predated by 200 years in Christianity.
