I am someone who finished the interferon/ribavirin treatment protocol a few months ago and CLEARED the Hepatitis C virus. I am considered CURED! DO NOT just let this go, many will develop cirrhosis of the liver AND OR LIVER CANCER!
Yes, the treatment can be uncomfortable, it was like having the flu for 6 months, length of treatment depends on which genotype you have, I had 2a, most in the US have genotype 1 and that requires 48 weeks of treatment. It is chemotherapy, but they do not inject you with "radiation" how stupid.
The Roche company GAVE ME the Pegasys (their interferon) and Ribavirin meds FOR FREE. I went to the COUNTY HOSPITAL where I lived and was approved for ALL BUT FREE medical, I paid $20 per visit to the Liver Specialist, NOTHING for lab work. START DIGGING TO FIND OUT WHAT YOUR LOVED ONE QUALIFIES FOR in your area.
