I have an old 386 PC with no operating system. How do I install Windows 3.1 from floppy disks?

    There are multiple ways you could go about this. I will give you one example:

    1) Boot from a standard 98 startup disk. (this link will create one for you if you don't already know how)

    2) Use FDISK to partition the hard drive. This will erase any data you already have on the hard drive...

    3) Boot from the first floppy in the Win 3.1 set and follow the instructions to format the partition(s) and install Winblows.

    P.S. Wouldn't you rather try linux?!? You'll get much better performance and stability out of this slow machine and more capabilities too.
