    singwell-is off researching a lot

    Although it is an amazing feat of engineering, the damage that it will do to the ecosystem of the area (which is enormous)not to mention the horror of the displacement of people who have lived there for over 1000 years, is scary. But that is China- the little person has never had a say throughout its history...and speaking of history...all the historical sites that will go under, the family temples etc that are irreplaceable (genealogies are written around the roofs) is an even bigger tragedy than ASwan in Egypt.
