Why can't people just say 'thank you' when you give them a compliment?

    While it's true that some people are rude, I've learned in my psychology classes that most people who cannot take compliments are insecure with themselves and do not believe in what you are complimenting them on. I do believe that people are just plain rude and they do not give a shit what you say to them. But thats just my opinion:)
