There's a myth regarding the fox and polar bear that seems pretty popular and won't go away. Some claim that the Fox serves as a guardian and look out for the bears in exchange for table scraps. Not true, the fox is merely a scavenger and that's the only reason you'll find it around bears.

Just in a scavenger capacity Lonestar,on the foxes part, utilizing whatever scraps humans leave behind ( not much in the arctic since everything has a use).
Food and a pelt for clothing would be the only human relationship.
