Not the way vampires are depicted in movies. But there is a disease that is extremely rare and is rejected by most of the medical community since it is so rare. This disease shows a couple of symtoms that the vampires of movies have. They are:

    1. The inflicted do desire blood because their bodies produce very low amounts of hemoglobin. What enables them to be drawn to blood is still a mystery.

    2. The inflicted are very sensitive to sunlight. Their eyes are sensitive to the point that even most sunglasses can't help. The skin gets very bad sunburns. All this is due to the low amounts of hemoglobin.

The inflicted aren't "allergic" to garlic. Holy objects don't burn their skin. And a stake to the heart will kill them, but only because they are human. And the sun doesn't kill them.

Factoid#24 - Some scientists to believe that the myth of modern vampires started because of this.
