I hated the movie and thought Zooey was a major problem... she can't act to save her life and has one expression, reminiscent of a deer caught in the headlights. I can't name one movie she's been in that has been good. I think something about her destroys any movie she becomes attached to.

LowCuZn is correct: Deep Thought gave 42 as the answer but also said in order to understand the answer you first need to understand the question. 42 was the question for the next computer, Earth. Sadly, it was destroyed before it gave an answer.

I believe that 42 was the name of a club or restaurant in London where Fenny received the answer in her subconcious and was just about to relise it before the Earth made way for a inter-galaxtic bypass.
