I'm a Christian, but I'm not Jewish. Why would I try to take part in Jewish traditions?

    Response:
The Bible doesn't teach that Gentiles become Jews when they turn to Christ. Paul certainly maintained the distinction between Jews and Gentiles throughout Romans. This so-called "replacement theology" comes from British Israelism and is nothing but bunk.

    • If you are Christian, you are Jewish. Read Messianic Christology by Dr. Arnold Fruchtenbaum

    • No, you're not. By definition, a Christian believes in the teachings of Christ. Jews do not.

    • Anguilla, I'm a Jew. I believe. What's your excuse? Not all jews reject the Mashiach. Who do you think the Mashiach is? A JEW. Why do Christians act like Yeshua was someone other than who He actually was?

    • I'm a Jew, too. And of course Jesus was Jewish. But I stand by my statement. A Jew who believes in Jesus is a Christian. I can't understand how it could be interpreted any other way. (Other than by saying, I guess, a "Jesusian.")

    • There is no intrepretation about it. If you obey the Torah, your a Jew whether Physically or spiritually. Do you not recall the day at Mount Sinai when Moshe received the Torah? Jews and Gentiles were among the people. The Torah was given to both Jews and Gentiles. The only requirement was faith. If you believed in the Lrd Gd of Israel, then you lived by His words.

    • I know I'm going to regret continuing this discussion, but here goes. What about all the comments I've read on AB saying that Jesus said that [I'm paraphrasing, so don't pounce on my literal words] the old laws didn't apply anymore, e.g., formerly treyf animals had been cleansed and were OK to eat? Doesn't that mean that those who accept/agree with what Jesus said aren't obeying the Torah?

P.S. As I've said many times on AB, it is wrong for anyone, me included, to criticize another's religious beliefs. So please understand that I'm merely having a discussion with you about semantics.
