Just adding to other answers. I have done it before and it will blow your mind. It isn't just mood changes and other coincidental changes. The thing that made me a believer was that whenever the witch enters the scene highly similar music plays, when it rains in the movie the music has raining sounds in it, the music switches perfectly with all the of the developments in the story (going to the munchkins, Kansas, etc). Really the only people who will say it is a coincidence are the ones who have never tried it. I highly recommend doing it. What do you have to loose?
