Before the vacation make some good brief notes and give yourself half an hour of just reading and rewriting them so they make more sense to you. Apply what you've learnt to your surroundings (e.g. science, economics) so you can make more associations and let your studies enrichen the value of your experiences. It sounds ridiculous but if you can make fun of work and never let your studies leave you, you'll enjoy yourself and fly through exams because it'll be natural and interesting to you.
The worst thing you can do is nothing coming near the vacation and then nothing during, you'll feel guilty and overworked on return.
