Febreeeeeezzzeeee! :D As for smoke residue? I use a steam carpet cleaner on everything. Not just carpets.

Why do today's new clothes have such a strong chemical odor? I'm worried about that and wanted to know if new clothes should be laundered before wearing. A former co-worker's wife broke out in a rash after wearing a new blouse.
