Why do i need to buy the Xbox router if i want wireless online play? cant i just hook up a separate router and an Ethernet cable to my Xbox?

You're reading I have a new xbox and my downloads from the multiplayer pack (Halo 2) have been corrupted. I have tried downloading from Xbox live with no sucess. What should I do next?

everything on my xbox i deleated ,everything, yes, i did contacted microsoft and they told me to delete the corrupted memory and i do and then i reinstall it off live or the mappack and always get the same results

Are you able to save any other information to the hard drive? Game saves or music or things like that? Sounds like it may be something wrong with the drive itself.

a few things like demos and "add-ons" for oblivion. a couple of acounts on obl. shows up on the harddrive but during the game i cant acess them. i called the company i bought it from and they told me that they dont deal with problems like mine.

You'll probably have to call Xbox customer support and have them repair your unit. The good news is that they can definitely fix it, or send you a replacement unit. The bad news is that you'll most likely lose everything that's saved on your hard drive (which really won't matter, since you said you can't access any of it anyway). I just had to ship my Xbox in for repairs myself, and it took only about a week and I already have my box back.
