No they are not. If they don't sell it then they have to take a loss. In fact, often a drug store will sell snacks or small amounts of groceries to capture some extra cash from impulse buying. Same concept applies to a gas station that sells candy, gum, cigs, and soda. You stop for gas and hey..whaddaya' know you are thirsty and whaddaya' know there is some soda here...see?
