    the only hunting i condone in, is hunting for survival, and hunting to control overpopulation, other than that i hate the idea of hunting, killing innocent animals for no good reason.

    • How does a cow differ from a wild animal? It was born into captivity and raised specifically to be killed. It never knows freedom. It's still good food though. A wild animal, at least was free to live. Always respect that an animal gave it's life for yours, regardless whether it was free or captive. A steak is a particular way a piece of meat is cut. It can be beef, bison, deer, etc.

    • I don't eat some of the things you listed, but hunting squirrel and rabbits around here is sometimes a must, for population control. i would never tell someone to just go out and shot something for now reason I hate that. The ppl that go out and shot a deer just to cut its antilers off and leave the rest to go to waste turn my stomach. It's those ppl who give us a bad name.

    • Dave-I agree 100%! That cow you get from the store or restaurant was not treated nicely and they were filled full of hormones and drugs to make them bigger quicker to sell and get rid of. You would probably be sick if you knew what was put into the meat you are eating.UGG!

    • The Taking the antlers and leaving the rest in the woods thing is disgusting. Someone needs a whack in the head with a log.

    • I love meat but every time I eat it I keep in mind that another gave its life so that I should live. I think we at least owe them that.

    • You are right Dave, and they do need a good smack when this happens! We will always respect the animals that give us their lives. Sounds silly but we do say a little "prayer" thanking them and apologizing. ;-}

    • So the wholesale slaughter of animals is OK as long as you hire a middle man?
      Hunted animals are treated WAY more humanely than those that are bred to end up in your grocery store!
      Perhaps if more people had to go get their meat, less of it would be wasted. Some folks do not realize that those clean packages in the supermarket are the result of an animal being killed.

    • killing animals for their pelts ,i think, is dispicable, i freak out whenever i see anyone wearing fur, theres no excuse for it.

    • If it's for their pelts alone, I agree but if you take an animal, you are under a moral obligation (as I see it) to use as much of it as possible.
      Anything else is disrespectful in my book.

    • Some ppl actually do eat the meat of these animals, I for one don't, and I don't hunt them. There are certain limits I set on what I will and will not hunt, and trust me if you look at my pictures I am not a big game hunter,lol. We do it for the meat and only for that reason, yes obviously if a nice deer comes by then you get excited about the size, but I wouldn't know this feeling since the only buck I have is a tiny little squirt. He did taste good though, the bigger ones usually don't taste as good. I also don't agree with killing just for fur or what not,that is horrible. Although I can't say that I never owned a raccoon hat, my dad hunted them and of course brought us back soveniers, but they were used for other things, not just hats. We actually had a pet raccoon that we had neutered and declawed, he was awesome, he even gave kisses. ;-}
