Effective missionaries do not say 'your religion is wrong'. They merely tell the truth from their own standpoint.

The trouble is Larry that American Christian evangelicalism is involved in politics ie the restoration of Biblical lands to the Jews to hasten the coming of the Messiah. What they don't seem to understand is that Eastern Orthodox Christians do not want anything to do with this. They are more likely to support the Palestianians than the Jews. This is why it is so dangerous. Because of the problems they have lived through in muslim countries they are highly diplomatic about religion and you can here them using Islamic phrasiology when talking to muslims to ease the relationship between them. Any American missionary who appears on the seen is likely to cause friction between the muslims and the well established Eastern orthodox church and endanger the lives of native Christians.
