As one prone to a middle-of-the-night upset stomach, I think I can help. Besides the ever popular saltines and ginger ale (the saltines help neutralize stomach acid, and the ginger ale helps re-hydrate you while settling your stomach), there are a few.

Personally, I find that mint does wonders. The smell of peppermint or spearmint instantly soothes me, and for that reason, I keep a bottle of Bath & Body Works Spearmint & Eucalyptus linen spray next to my bed. If that doesn't work, peppermint tea always does the trick. In a pinch, sucking on a peppermint candy will help, too.

Weak tea or herbal tea often help. Slippery elm, ginger, red raspberry, and "Sleepy Time" (brand name) are all teas that are supposed to help. You can also purchase some herbal candies (sometimes called "Pregnancy pops") at health-food stores which will ease nausea (but not vomiting). Herbal cough drops (like Ricola) also sometimes help.

Remember that if you're vomiting, it's because your body is trying to get something bad out of your system. That's a good thing no matter how miserable you are. Sip fluids as much as you can keep down, and when you're able, eat the saltines to help settle things down. When you're getting better, eat some active-culture yogurt to replenish your body's supply of friendly bacteria.
