I saved a NeoOffice file as a PDF, and it saved it blank. Is there anyway I can recover the text? I didn't save another copy of the file.

You're reading I need to fax a pdf document but don't have a fax machine. What website can I use for sending just one fax? (I don't want to subscribe to anything)

If the modem supports fax and they actually installed the utility it would work. One of those is missing and it's not going to help.

To use Windows Xp built in feature, Dial Up Connection and Modem are mandatory.

Most laptops and some desktops come with a modem so odds in their favour a bit and a majority of them are fax enabled. A phone line ( most people have these) is all that's needed.
