Abercrombie ran a retail store which sold sporting goods, and his best customer, Fitch, became his partner in the early 1900's. They don't make anything, they are a retail outlet that sold sporting goods, and later branched out to other retail items.

They became competitors to my father-in-Law's clothing business, and were the reason he switched over to exclusive designer ladies clothing.

    • Wow, actually you suprised me. I didn't think very many people knew that. You should see the looks people give you when you tell them you used to be able to buy guns at A & F. LOL!

    • My husband's family were very active in the retail clothing industry around the turn of the last century. When I say FIL, I actually mean the grandfather. They made their fortune in clothing, and moved into real estate. The in-laws retired and moved to CA to be with the rest of the family. Hubby got into computers in the early days, and is now a success in IT.
