How much money does a Vet make a year?

    I can't believe the things you people are saying. I doubt that most of you have ever worked in a veterinary hospital or know the facts about preventing diseases in pets. Most owners don't listen to their veterinarians and in turn the animals suffer. Why don't people listen to their vets? Because people like you tell them that vets are like car salesmen. I'm sure there are a few shady vets out there- just like ANY other profession. It does NOT apply to all veterinarians. Get your facts straight. And I'm glad your vets make a lot of money but the truth is most of them do it for their love of animals and many make less than plumbers (who don't have to go to school). I work with 12 veterinarians at a large practice where they work 15 hour days and some are barely able to support their family. Get a life please.

    • I completely agree with you. These people have no idea what it's like to be a vet. Sure, the expenses for operations are sometimes ridiculous, but it's not always the decision of the veterinarian for how much it costs. I'm studying to become a vet and have no intentions of draining people's wallets with unnecessary operations.
