Most likely, that box you're seeing is known as a "Text box." It's a type of closed captioning, or at least, it's included in your caption menu.

To get rid of it, follow the instructions of your TV manual to get to the "caption menu," and if it has a setting of something like Text 1, Text 2, etc, change it until it reads "Off." Or, if you want captioning, Caption 1 will usually do.
