Why did Stacy London insist that Wayne Scot Lukas be fired from What Not To Wear?

    Of the three hosts that have been on the show, only Wayne Scot Lukas is the only practicing professional stylist. Thus, its strange that the producers decided to fire him unless you know the context for this decision. It is simply untrue that Wayne was fired because he dressed inapproriately fo the show. During season 1, with no budget for a professional stylist, Stacy's clothing decisions weren't above reproach either. Remember, the the fishnet overshirt she had on over a peasant blouse or that animal print coat with the plaid skirt. It is far different from what Stacy wears today, with the help of a professional stylist.

    The real reason was that the producers wanted to increase the number of shows, and crank them out like a production line. However, Wayne had the highest standards and that would have slowed production down. Thus, they knew that even though he was the real expert, they couldn't keep him.

    So, they went behind his back and started auditioning people to see how they would interact with Stacy. The producers were looking more for on camera charisma than knowledge or skill in the other host. Stacy didn't get Wayne fired per se, but she wasn't particulary loyal by warning Wayne what was going on. In fact, she was very eager to get a new co-host. There had been some clashes between the two since Wayne had better credentials, he had been telling Stacy what to do- to interact more with the fans, to stay longer on the set to make sure the MO was perfect, etc.. Stacy has gone on record to describe working with Wayne during the first season as "Oh my God, it was so nerve-racking. It really was."

    • I should also add that being a "stylist" and a GOOD stylist are two different things.The producers of the show arent stupid, and would not get rid of someone who was an asset.Obviously, he WASNT,& thats why he got the ax there just like he did at HSN.
