To vote requires one to have an informed opinion. To have an informed opinion requires that one takes the time to be informed and to make intelligent choices based on that, at least ideally. That being the case, most 16 year olds wouldn't have enough life experience to qualify as being informed and thus it wouldn't be practical or reasonable to expect them to vote. Now in your case that might be different but perhaps learning to at least spell government correctly might be a start.

    • No need, but you can see why, if you want to be taken seriously, things like this count. You may well have valid and intelligent points to make but not every sixteen year old is that intelligent and if you're arguing that they should have the right to vote, you are, more or less, appointing yourself as being representative. Politics is not a fair game and doesn't often give second chances, unless of course you're a corrupt Republican, in which case you simply get a public slap on the wrist and then get promoted again when the government thinks nobody is looking.

    • actually, the voting rights act of 1965 states anybody w/ a 6th grade education has enough intelligence to vote.

    • Maybe true, but you STILL must be 18 years of age to vote....no matter how stupid you are.
