How did the US government figure out that bin Laden was behind the September 11th attacks so quickly?

    History (al-Qaeda had attacked on U.S. soil before, namely the World Trade Center bombing of '93), and the FBI going through a four-hour long investigative process of the hijackers themselves. They linked the names of the hijackers to al-Qaeda.

    The media was mostly responsible for pointing out that it was probably bin Laden's work, however.
