Being overweight just isn't pretty. It makes a person's body look physically distorted. Our brains doesn't respond very well to that sort of imagery.

It has something to do with 1000's and 1000's of years of human survival. Our ancient ancestors couldn't have survive in primative conditions with that much ASS-cess. (Blood pressure and diabetic meds weren't invented back then.)

    • 'Pretty' is in the eye of the beholder - it isn't universal.

    • well I hate to break it to you TORO77 but shallow and rude people are even uglier. As the saying goes, the person you are talking about may be fat, but your attitude makes you even uglier, and at lest the overweight person can lose weight. Don't know if anyone realizes or not, but way back in history, women with a little meat on their bones were considered the attractive ones because it was a physical symbol of wealth and status, and wealth and status were important when arranging marriages for children. I know a LOT of men who believe Marilyn Monroe was one of the sexiest women alive..hate to break it to you, she was either a size 14 or a size 16! Those are the sizes a lot of females who are considered to be overweight wear. Another issue is that it is not always a lifestyle choice that makes a person overweight. I know of at least 12 health issues and diseases that can cause weight gain..and it has also been proven that being on birth control can make one gain weight and make it harder for a woman to lose weight. Everyone is built differently. Some people are just built to be bigger than others, and thats not fair to judge someone because of genetics, because they had no say in their genetic makeup. I am slightly overweight a few pounds and have plenty of men who find me absolutely irresistable....so its not the overweight people that are the problem...its the rude, shallow self-centered people who can treat people with respect that are the problem. If everyone could show each other a little respect in this world, there would be so many less problems. Stop caring about how other people look and worry about yourself and your own life. For every person you judge, there is another person judging you.

    • Well said, FunsizedRedhead! it's amazing how many people think that opinion or preference equates to a 'fact.'
