Help answer this question below.

My periods last 5 days, but this time it has been more than a week. Could this be a symptom of something I should see my doctor about?

    Depending upon your age this could be the starting sign of permenopause-the 6 or so years leading up to the actual start of menopause. Keep track of your periods on a small desktop calendar and take that with you to your doctor appointments. Over a year's time you can see if the changes are only once in a while (sometimes due to stress or physical activity) or if they are constant changes. Either way do talk to you doctor. Perimenopause has been known to start in women as early as their mid-30's although it's rare.
