We were trying to get pregnant for 2 years with no luck.I recently underwent surgery to remove 1 of my ovaries. Now I think I may be pregnant but can that really happen with 1 ovary? It's only been 3 months since the surgery?

    Yes, it can happen.

Your body normally alternates which ovary it releases an egg from each month; I don't know if that now means it only kicks out an egg every other month, or if you produce one every month from the remaining ovary, but there's always a chance you can get pregnant.

Make an appointment with your doctor right away, to confirm the pregnancy and to prepare a plan so you can carry this baby to term. Good luck to you both!

    • Thanx. I went to the Doc today and she assured me that the remaining ovary is producing one egg every month, so I have the same chance of becoming pregnant as I did with two. Bad news is that I have a higher chance of early menopause. No baby at this point but if it's meant to happen it will!!
