    aleishadaniels, I quit this way:

When your last carton of cigarettes runs out, buy the next carton that is LESS nicotine and tar than what you usually smoke.

Do this each time you run out of a carton.

When you are at the LOWEST tar and nicotine that any cigarette has to offer, you will find that you will not really want/need a cigarette. When that happens, put your ciggies away (out of sight).

Psychologically, this helped me because I didn't feel like I was going to be totally without cigarettes, like I would if I were to quit cold turkey (which I never succeeded doing anyway).

It took me a couple of months to quit this way and the only hard part was adjusting to the first pack or so in the new, lower nicotine and tar pack of each carton.

It worked for me. Good luck to you! *SMILES* (Email me if you have any questions, OK? irahyn@hughes.net)

    • I tried this once - hated each lower cig so much that I gave in and went back to full flavor. But I think I will try it again since I cant seem to do it cold turkey. Thanks for refreshing this idea into my mind.
