    Yes, Stephen Hawking is the smartest person on the planet. He was effected by ALS(amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) at the age of 20. The disease confined him to a wheel chair and forced him to use a computer generated voice synthesizer. He still continued his research and provided the mathematical support for the big bang theory. He is regarded as living Einstein, but he is undoubtedly a greater genius than Einstein. For more information about him visit http://www.hawking.org.uk/

    • Wrong - if he didn't have ALS almost no-one would have heard of him.
