Help answer this question below.

This is a question for cutters, what do you say when people asks about your scars ? do you say the truth or a lie?

    I'd usually say something like "Oh, it's just something stupid, don't worry about it," and then change the subject.

    I find it interesting that people who hurt themselves are so much more receptive at noticing others that hurt themselves, too. e.g. a person who cuts themselves will easily look for, and find, cuts on someone else.

    • i find that interesting too, pshchade. i just recently noticed that thats now the first thing i look for when i see someone. i scan their wrists for signs of cuts or old scars. weird. and i never looked for that before i started cutting.

    • There are also people, like me, that notice the cuts because we care about persons that hurt themselves when there are other, healthier, ways to deal with life ups and downs.

    • i do the scanning thing to ... and when i'm drunk my friends tend to get really ammoyed with my because most of then have perfectly smooth unmarked wrists, and i'm slightly obsessed with them and like to run my fingertips up and down scanning for their hidden imperfections.
