I know that being a convicted felon, I can't own or posses a firearm, but would't it be violating my wife's rights to deny her to have a firearm when she has not been into any kind of trouble?

I think she should be allowed to own a gun... I think the laws should only deny convicted felons of GUN CRIMES from owning guns... That's my opinion on the subject...

    • She is allowed to own one, she just cannot bring it into their home or in his presence, or it puts him in violation of parole/probation.

Think about it, just because it's not a "gun crime" doesn't mean you shouldn't be prohibited from owning a firearm. Someone that's a felon due to drugs or alcohol, may not make a sober decision with a firearm. Someone with a violent crime conviction may have a really bad temper, and a firearm would not be good. A felony theft conviction would create a situation where you have leverage to assist you in stealing by scaring the victims. That wouldn't be good either. You really need to rethink your opinion on the matter.
