I disagree. I think the American government and multinational corporations are the biggest terrorists of all.

    • By engaging in terrorism.

    • lol.....ok.
      .
i mean, what are you saying they are engaging in that is terroristic?

      COMMON SENSE

by COMMON SENSE on February 13th, 2008

    • corporations use thugs and dictatorship governments to kill and enslave the people of poor countries to steal their nations resources and put them to work for their corporations for wages so low the people can barely survive... The american government has used the CIA to overthrow governments around the world and to bully countries into supporting it's own agendas which incidentally usually is in support of multinational corporations... South and Central America are a good example... Ever heard of "The School of the Americas"?

      Nathan Explosion

by Nathan Explosion on February 13th, 2008

    • if you are referring to american/european corporations for the first bit.....no, wrong.....do they ship jobs over to poorer(china) to reduce costs? yes......do they pay the legal wage over there? yes.....
.............but if you are referring to some asian large industries, then i can't argue that.....some even use their own children
      .
for the second bit.....what you said is kind of right.......the cia doesn't overthrow governments per say, but rather help rebels that already were fighting government....some good examples are the countries that fought to break away from old ussr.

      COMMON SENSE

by COMMON SENSE on February 13th, 2008

    • the CIA has overthrown governments... read up about Kermit Roosevelt and how he overthrew the popularly elected president of Iran... True they may use opposition forces when available but in no way do they depend on this...

      Nathan Explosion

by Nathan Explosion on February 13th, 2008

    • as for corporations they engage in economic terrorism where they will go into a country that is about to nationalize it's oil (for instance) and give the leader of that country an ultimatum to make sure they don't nationalize the industry... ever wonder why so many progressive south and central american leaders who are about to nationalize their countries oil die in fiery airplane crashes or other mysterious deaths right before they can do anything?

      Nathan Explosion

by Nathan Explosion on February 13th, 2008

    • Iran is not an example of the CIA working alone......are you sure you know what happened there?
      .
as for the corporations.........no..........what you are talking about is more conspiracy junk that isn't backed up by a single fact..................... using any kind of accident and suddenly blaming someone on it just because you don't like those people doesn't make it true.....especially when there is no factual evidence to back it up.

      COMMON SENSE

by COMMON SENSE on February 13th, 2008

    • there is plenty of factual evidence that corporations do indeed engage in this behavior... look it up yourself...
as for Iran, the CIA did use hired mobs to create an image of unrest in Iran that simply didn't exist at that time... the president was a very charismatic and caring leader who went to great extent to improve the quality of the lives of Iranians... And without the CIA he would never have been overthrown.... read up buddy...

      Nathan Explosion

by Nathan Explosion on February 13th, 2008

    • lol.......it is not my job to go look up your side of the argument.
      .
i know my facts......and i prefer to not have to read you conspiracy sites.
      .
since you can't provide me with your "info" i guess i will assume you have just been winging it this whole time.........i guess thats why not much of it made sense

      APACHEmeansENEMY

by APACHEmeansENEMY on February 13th, 2008

    • none of what you say has made sense... this isn't hidden information.. It is well documented and easily researchable... And corporations do indeed go into countries and offer ultimatums to the leaders... How do you think they own so many countries resources? Certainly not through playing fair that's for sure!

    • There is plenty posted here that could result in a lively, informative debate...but..i see that you, common sense, are up to your usual style of being condescending and rude...you aren't saying anything at all..you are simply telling nathan that hes 'wrong" and making snide, mocking comments. Why on earth do you even bother to comment in the first place if you aren't willing to have a productive conversation?

      APACHEmeansENEMY

by APACHEmeansENEMY on February 13th, 2008

    • Apache......every time i meet you on debate, instead of making points you just try to change the conversation to saying the other person "ended (or ruined or whatever word you use) the discussion..........it is a clever tactic i will give you that, but it is easily spotted..........if you don't have stuff to add, then please don't add anything.
      .
as for nathan.........since your comments stand as is, i guess i have nothing else to say..........i can't challenge someone who has put nothing but their opinion here instead of factual evidence.
      .
here, i am leaving now, but here is some factual evidence that backs my side and disproves your bit about us being terrorists.

    • I made plenty of points the last time we had a "debate' you did nothing but mock me, call me names and not answer one question i asked you. i can provide a link if you wish..and not once did I use the word ended or ruined..read whats in front of your face dude! oh, and one link you provide does not disprove anothers point..its merely a facet to a larger issue...you sure are threatened by someone providing a point of view that you don't agree with!

      APACHEmeansENEMY

by APACHEmeansENEMY on February 13th, 2008

    • i saw nothing from your link that corroborated your side of the argument... quite the opposite... as for your comments to apache.. maybe you should take your own advice and go back and re-read what she wrote...

      Nathan Explosion

by Nathan Explosion on February 13th, 2008

    • And I can add whatever i want..to whatever conversation i want...may i point out that YOU are the one that came along after we were already here talking? if you can't handle me pointing something out to you then don't comment on threads that i am already in!

      APACHEmeansENEMY

by APACHEmeansENEMY on February 13th, 2008

    • nathan, i think you missed my point a bit on my last post (which is my fault because i didn't elaborate)......i am in no way saying that British and US inteligence didn't work to overthrow the person......but as your source points out, they were working with resistance groups already in the region..........and as you stated above in response to one of my posts the CIA soley overthrew the iranian leader.....and as your post says, they didn't.
      .
as for my post, you don't have to read the first bit, just go down near the bottom....that is where my side came in, in which you post actually repeated.....
      .
the only point of my source was to show that it wasn't a sole CIA operation that did it.....rather the CIA working with resistance groups.

    • Apache, i have no idea where you get the idea i said you couldn't post here......i never said any such thing.
      .
you once agin, are taking things other people say completely out of context.
      .
what i said before, is please don't post if you have nothing to add to the conversation.........i didn't give you a bloody direct order

      COMMON SENSE

by COMMON SENSE on February 13th, 2008

    • Well, thats because thats not even close to what i said..you need to slow down or something..i seriously have never met anyone on this site who has as much trouble with reading comprehension as you do.
And who the hell are you to ask me not to post here...again, as I already said..i was ALREADY HERE POSTING when you arrived..if you don't like it..too bad.

      APACHEmeansENEMY

by APACHEmeansENEMY on February 13th, 2008

    • and then you begin your insults.......i love it apache you are so predictable.
      .
and that is right.....you can continue to post here......what i said was merely a bloody request and if you want to continue posting then you can....................for some odd reason you seem to be under the impression that if i ask you not to post on a pointless argument (like this one) that i am somehow giving you an order..........well, your wrong......

      COMMON SENSE

by COMMON SENSE on February 13th, 2008

    • If its a pointless argument then why are you still here?

      APACHEmeansENEMY

by APACHEmeansENEMY on February 13th, 2008

    • i am here because i am discussing stuff with nathan......since you are here arguing with me, there is no reason not to respond.....it isn't really making me go to some post i am never on

      COMMON SENSE

by COMMON SENSE on February 13th, 2008

    • I would hardly call a handful of shah loyalists an established "resistance group"... they certainly did not come close to holding a majority of the peoples sentiments in the matter...

      Nathan Explosion

by Nathan Explosion on February 13th, 2008

    • and it clearly points out that the us and british led the coup out of fear of iran nationalizing their oil industry... this is exactly what i have been talking about all along...

      Nathan Explosion

by Nathan Explosion on February 13th, 2008

    • ok..I will leave you to your discussion....have fun!

      APACHEmeansENEMY

by APACHEmeansENEMY on February 13th, 2008

    • majority has nothing to do with it.......99% of all resistance groups don't hold a majority.
      .
besides, i would call a few thousand a handful.....(hint: look at the number of areas the rebels took over in a short time)

      COMMON SENSE

by COMMON SENSE on February 13th, 2008

    • secondly, you must understand the difference between "terrorism" (which is what this whole discussion was about).
      .
and protecting national interests...........THE WORLD IS NOT A NICE PLACE...........there is no such thing as a hug and make up routine.
      .
England is one of our greatest allies, so when their economy whent to crap because the iranian leader started the "turn" against all things western, we helped the british...that isn't terrorism....

      COMMON SENSE

by COMMON SENSE on February 13th, 2008

    • nationalizing an oil industry that was theirs to begin with is hardly what i would call a "turn against all things western"... and i would indeed call that terrorism...
but if you want a really good example of the american government's terrorism you don't need to look any further than 911...

      Nathan Explosion

by Nathan Explosion on February 13th, 2008

    • CS's argument boiled down...
      .
When "they" do it, it's terrorism...
      .
When "we" do it, it's 'protecting our national interests'...
      .
The fact that people end up equally dead, maimed and oppressed doesn't seem to register...:-P...

      Old School

by Old School on February 13th, 2008

    • I agree! And if Peta firebombs a business and causes a few thousand dollars damage it's called terrorism but if we overthrow a government because their leaders are proactive in protecting their impoverished citizens interests then it's called protecting our national interests (meaning the multinationals interests)! LOL

    • nathan.....for your first sentance....that wasn't what i was referring to.....i am referrin to many of the other things he did.
      .
and if you call that terrorism.....i honestly think you have the definition of terrorism wrong........terrorism is using attacks on civilians and "fear" attacks to advance your agenda
      .
as for 9-11......sorry buddy, but no......those conspiracy theories are truly crud and any scientist could easily discredit every single one of those theories............what happened on 9-11 was REAL terrorism

      COMMON SENSE

by COMMON SENSE on February 13th, 2008

    • Old School, you got it wrong
      .
my argument doesn't boil down to what you say............terrorists attack civilians and institutions using "terror/fear" tactics to advance their agenda...........
      .
what doesn't seem to register with you old school is the difference between fighting (war) and slaughter (terrorism)

      COMMON SENSE

by COMMON SENSE on February 13th, 2008
