does that mean when christians say that the only way to heaven is through Jesus its the same as saying the only way to heaven is through God?

It means it is the only way Christians can rise to the stars.I was taught this in Sunday School when I was in 1st grade.

In a sense, yes, but we must make sure that we use the Name of Jesus because it is the only Name that brings salvation(see Acts 4:12, and Romans 10:9-13). We must also be sure that tell others that Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of God. At the same time as being God, He was also a distinct Person than the Father. The Bible teaches us that the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost are one(see I John 5:7 KJV). God is a Triune Being.
