Is it normal for an outside garage door opener to stop working because of cold weather?

    Had the exact same problem. In below freezing temperatures, the opener ignored both our remotes.

    I used my wire stgrippers and stripped the last inch of the antenna wire hanging down from the opener. Untwisted the twisted strans and shaped them into a "dream catcher" shape.

    This week was below freezing all week with a low yesterday of 9. Opener worked first time, every time just like in warm weather.
