Jesus is Jehovah's firstborn son, or the one he created directly with his own hands. Jesus aided Jehovah in creating all the creations that now exist.

    • tabithap5: If Jesus was CREATED ... then how could he be ETERNAL? "For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us; And the government will rest on His shoulders; And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace." - Isaiah 9:6 ... AND ... "But as for you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, Too little to be among the clans of Judah, From you One will go forth for Me to be ruler in Israel. His goings forth are from long ago, From the days of eternity." - Micah 5:2 ... ETERNALITY, by definition, CANNOT have a "beginning". Thank you.

    • He will be eternal Father, in that he will be our father forever.

    • Nice comment vew. You seem to have hit the nail on the head. The first definition is: perpetuity, for ever, continuing future
      http://www.blueletterbible.org/lang/lexicon/lexicon.cfm?Strongs=H5703&t=NASB
      1) perpetuity, for ever, continuing future
      a) ancient (of past time)
      b) for ever (of future time)
      1) of continuous existence
      c) for ever (of God's existence)

The correct rendering is "of all creation", not "over all creation". The NIV has good footnotes, but is a little dishonest in the main text.
Of all creation implies that some one is of something. Rather someone is the firstborn of all creation as being the first, or rather firstborn of all creation in the since of status, he is still part of creation.

      1) individually
      a) each, every, any, all, the whole, everyone, all things, everything
      2) collectively
      a) some of all types
