Question

Help answer this question below.

I'm worried that I'm getting tolerant to ibuprofen. For years I took two 200mg tablets at a time for headaches, etc. But a year ago or so I noticed that they didn't have much effect, so I started taking 3 at a time. I rarely take more than 9 a day.

under doctors advice you can with their permission take 3 400mg 3 times a day in safety. But no more than that, and also you should not take paracetamol with ibrobrufen as this could cause an overdose.

    • Actually my doctor tells me to take ibuprofen and paracetamol when I'm in a lot of pain, and/or very sick.

    • I wonder if I should switch to a different painkiller so that I don't become more tolerant to ibuprofen?

BTW I did ask my nurse practitioner about this and she poo-pooed my concern and said I could take 6 at a time if I wanted to.
