Help answer this question below.
Are you sure the IAC is actually moving or are you having problems when under constant speed lower rpm range? (no matter what gear your in). If it surges when under little or no power, engine idle is rough or stalls, the most likely problem is EGR Valve is not closing internally (because of carbon build up) and is creating a internal vacuum leak. Unless you have a scanning program to comfirm the IAC is actually actuating erratically I wouldn't jump to the conclusion its the problem. If you have no DTC's (engine codes) look to a mechanical problem first, you could have something as simple as a bad ign wire. Also, this engine has cronic problems with bad intake gaskets, your main indications would be uses oil, and a anoying spark knock when upshifting. I personally would suspect EGR not closing completely. Hopefully I helped with a little information.

You're reading Problem with 96 Dodge Ram 1500 with the 5.9L. The lde Air Control cycles open and close all the time even in over drive going down the interstate. The truck has no low end power. I have replace the MAP, TPS, And the idle Air Motor with no luck.
