You're reading Am I the only one that truly, deeply hates the police? Am I the only one who has been treated like dirt by cops, even if I am a victim instead of a suspect?

The most recent time, I called the cops out because a neighbor that had been evicted pushed his car into my driveway in back. I gave him more than enough time to move it, and wasn't trying to be a jerk because it was the holidays and he was going through a rough patch in life. The cops ran the VIN and the plates, which expired in 05. They found absolutely no information on the car, so that is a little fishy. they then started giving me hell for it. That was one younger officer, about 30, and one in mid 40s wearing stripes.
The previous time, I had my wallet stolen, and I was given hell, and threatened with arrest when I could not produce my ID, even though the reason I called them was to report the theft of it, and my cards, money etc. A supervisor eventually came over and got them off my ass, but he still treated me like I was a waste of his time. The time before that, I caught someone in the act of breaking a window to get out of my house. I had apparently woken up while my home was being invaded. I turn on the light in the hallway and I hear glass smashing in the den. I bolt in there, see someone trying to climb out my window. Without slowing down, I adjusted my run towards him, grabbed him and had him in a wrist backturn on the ground while yelling for my wife. I didn't hurt him, or attack him in any way. MY wife called the cops and the guy was arrested. The police gave me a very hard time over the fact that I caught someone stealing from me and didn't just let him go. Even though I used a restraining hold, and not an attack to stop him they threatened me with arrest for unlawful confinement. I have plenty of others stories, but those are the most recent. The intent of the law is to protect the victim. Cops are just as intent on arresting the victim. NUmber of arrests does not make a good cop, someone needs to tell them that!
