True, I dont respond well to organized religion for my own reasons but that's not to say that there isn't 'A' God, I hope I haven't affended anyone.

Nevets, you may not. No religion I know of claims to accurately describe their god. In fact, they will generally emphasize their god's incomprehensiblity. To answer kaleil, the difference between a higher power and a God is the difference between 'fruit' and an apple. Believe it or not, the term "higher power" actually relegates the concept of God to a subset under "higher powers". There can be many potential higher powers (nature, hope, love, faith) only some of which are gods (Vishnu, God, Yahweh).
